Pitch
With the feedback we had received from the teachers after presenting our pitch, we decided to rethink our initial idea and change it so that it would be more suitable for our target audience.
It was suggested that we thought about the content of the film, for example our main idea of having a man playing with children and holding them hostage may have been too close to the subject of peadophilia, so as a group we came together and thought of another idea. Our pitch was edited and our new idea had been created. It uses the same idea of the male, lonely, psychotic character but we changed it to him being alone because of the murder of his family. The locations, some of the planned shots and lightig ideas have stayed the same, but some ideas now have slight differences.

Costumes
We had to think carefully about what we wanted the main character to wear as it would need to symbolise and show the audience exactly what kinda of person he is. In the end we decided to put him in NORMAL AVERAGE EVERYDAY clothes: A checkered shirt and jeans.
This helps show how the main character is still seen by others as a normal person since he wears the things a normal man would.

Whilst shooting we will have to make sure the main character is wearing the same thing !
Extreme Close-Ups
I found the extreme close-ups in the opening sequence of SEVEN to be really dramatic. If my group can achieve shots like this it will make our psychological thriller opening a bit more interesting.

After The Pitch
We presented our ideas for our thriller to our whole media group and teachers within the media department and received criticism and positive feedback
The teachers main issue was the idea of our thriller to be about a man who had an unnatural attachment to children. They said 'it made him seem like a peadofile' which wouldn't attract audiences to go to the cinema and watch it if we were creating a whole movie.
In the pitch we described our thriller to be sci-fi as we had ideas of having a shot of a rocking horse rocking by itself as it linked to the child . However, it was decided that our overall thrill was a PSYCHOLOGICAL one ,since it dealt with a character who was in a mental state instead of ghost and aliens.
The good stuff
We were praised for setting out thriller opening somewhere local to the college as it would make carrying equipment easier as well as allowing us to have more time to film and be able to bring the equipment back on time.

In the end we decided to change our idea: A man who tragically lost his family and spends his time kidnapping and killing people though this wont be adknowledged by the audience in the opening scene. This scene will mainly show his serperation from the world and the love he has for his family by the flashbacks we will use.

About the Pitch
We had to make a pitch showing what our thriller was going to be about and present it to the teachers and class to give them a rough idea. We explained what thriller genre we will do and why which is now Phychological but before it was suppose to be like a sci-fi with toys dissapperaing and stuff moving on its own but we were corrected with the genre as we changed the pitch . We didnt want to do the obvious "horror". Also talked about loaction settings, props,camera,mise-en-scene and sound e.t.c.
