Behind!

Our Filming schedule didnt go as planned so we did not film because we was missing a member of the group who was the main character which delayed us so some parts of the editing had to be done in this case so eveything could be balanced out.

Evaluation of our first pitch

The first pitch that we presente to the panel did not turn out as well as we planned and we realised that we didnt think about what we wanted to do properly. The fact that we planned to use children could be seen as dangerous by some people. We also didn't check if we would first even have the permission of the parents to be able to film their children and our feedback suggested to us that our initial idea may be quite a sensitive subject so we had decided to change it. Presenting the pitch went quite well but we realised how we could do better and we have corrected it and presented it in our final pitch.

First Day of Filming .

The First day of filming went quite well, but i found it difficult to get the right angle shots as it took me a while. Our first scene was to do an establish shot of the area which was straight forward although the only problem was that it was hard to achieve the first time round as we had a wonky Triphod, so this made the video camera slanted. The problem was then resolved as we managed to straighten the Triphod.

Thriller Planning

During class we watched films to inspire us and help us with ideas for our own opening. 

The trailer for Se7en was the opening sequence which had inspired us the most and had given us the most ideas. 

During our group discussions we each had different ideas which we tried to put together, unfortunately as some of them were quite different we couldn't put all of the ideas together, so we decided to scrap those ideas and come up with one as a group. This ended up being our final idea and we have added this to our pitch which we have presented

Filming Diary: Day 1

On our first day of filming it took us a while to realise which scenes to film first and how we would film them, but eventually we got into the swing of things and got started. We filmed all of the beginning scenes and did quite well. As it was our first day of proper filming we didnt know how to position the camera to make the shots look exactly how we wanted, as a group we figured it out and we continued to do so until it was time for us to take back the equipment. The shots we got were reasonably good, and we were happy with what we had produced.

Filming Diary: Day 1

Today was the day we officially started filming.

Eventhough we were a bit behind with the amount of footage than others as we wasnt able to borrow the camera's for the holiday period as their was a limited amount, we still managed to get a few good shots.

Having an early lesson today meant we were able to have the filming equipment frm 9am till around 1pm back in time for another group to be able to use it for the lesson after lunch.

We got to a slow start at first, not really doing much but was able to clear out the room we needed to film in and had some encouragment from one of my group members mother to 'get a move on' and get filming which gave us abit more enthusiasm to get involved with getting as much shots as possible.

HOPEFULLY everything else goes well from here on !

Filming, Take One !

We were setting up the camera to film our second shot yet had difficulties as the tripod wasn't straight and the car which was parked right outside the house made it hard for us to be able to set the right shot of the door without it being too close. In the end we put the camera behind the car and extended the tripod to make it taller so it looked over the car, didn't get the car in the shot and captured the door perfectly

The stairs located in the house create a airy and ghost like atmosphere as the floor doesn't have carpet to add a homely effect to the the house

The white board is used in a shot to state a message from our character or could even be used as part of the mise-en-scene for which will show the titles.

These images show us opening doors. This technique is used as the scene is shot using a hand held camera to show what the camera sees as he walks through his house. We needed to open the doors yet stay hidden so we wouldn't be seen in the shot as this would add to the unnatural theme of our thriller as it would seem like the doors are opening themselves.
